Scent, Adornment & Womanly Things.

Lately I feel most myself without makeup.

As I get older, I’m becoming more attuned to what's right for me.

It’s taken me a long time to get here.

I started this work when I was first formulating the H IS FOR LOVE line. Back then I had given myself away entirely to motherhood, so I had to make a conscious effort to take moments and check in with myself. Those small moments produced what is now becoming a deep knowing.

Several months ago I took my short pixie cut even shorter and shaved my head. I’ve heard from a lot of women that this is something they’ve wanted to do at least once in their lives. It’s a really vulnerable thing, and at first I was struck by how even a small amount of hair allows us to blend in. Once my small amount of hair was gone there was nothing to hide behind. It forced me to be good with exactly who I am on a deep level. Now, I shave my head every week.

Without hair to style or makeup to do I have other ways to express and embellish my womanly beauty. Because-and it’s a cliché for a reason-our beauty comes from the inside. You don’t need hair or makeup, jewels or fancy clothes to make you beautiful. In fact, I read something the other day that conveys this perfectly.

Because my skincare routine communicates to the deeper parts of me that I am loved and worthy, my skin glows! The food I eat nourishes deeply. I no longer restrict myself. I just drink lots of water, get sun on my skin, and move my body regularly.

But I’m still a woman, and I still want little things that make me feel like one.

Lately, I’ve been loving collecting ornate earrings and layering simple but beautiful necklaces. I’ve also been thinking about adding more color to my wardrobe. That will be a huge step for me, so I’ll keep you posted on that one.

The other thing I love is a signature scent. There is something so sensual about rolling one over my wrist and neck. It makes me feel like I’ve put the final touches on my natural, healthy glow.

Each of our natural perfumes echoes a product scent from our line…

Did you know?

UNFURL includes the same essential oils as LIN and KAPHAR.

STAY AWHILE is a scent just like BARA.

HINTS OF GLADNESS is reminiscent of KINU.

I wear them alone or layered depending on my mood. During the day in the summer HINTS is what I’ve been choosing. If I’m dressing up and going out I layer STAY AWHILE over UNFURL.

They mingle with your own scent to create something entirely unique to you. They stand alone, and they compliment one another.

Our perfumes use only organic and/or biodynamic steam distilled essential oils and organic coconut oil. They are pre-mixed and aged in the dark, allowing the components of each oil to marry and bloom.

Our 10ml roll-on bottles are miron glass, just like the rest of our line. Miron filters out harmful UV rays and keeps our oils fresh. These perfumes are concentrated, and a little goes a long way.
