Summer Skin Series: CLEANSE & NOURISH BODY

Welcome to part 3 of our Summer Skin Series!

Today I’m discussing how to care for the skin on your body. We have four products for this that are a part of our official offering: two for cleansing, one for exfoliating, and one for moisturizing.

Believe me when I say you will not find products made for the body that perform like these.

This is next level body care.

Cold proccess soap is nothing short of magic. I spent over a year perfecting the base recipe for our soaps. That labor of love resulted in a long-lasting bar with the perfect lather. Our large blocks leave your skin cleansed, never dry. Although I prefer to cleanse my face with RAPHA, if you love to use something that foams on your face our soaps are some of the gentlest out there. You can even use our soaps for your hair!

Long lasting, never drying, beautiful… KAPHAR, MIEL, and our seasonal release P.S. BAR will make you fall in love.

KAPHAR Cleansing Bar is the OG. The product that played hardest to get and got me hooked. I’m pretty sure I dreamt of soap chemistry for a year while I dialed in the perfect recipe.

KAPHAR is made with vetiver, Peru balsam and bergamot, and will quickly become your favorite scent. To get the smoothest skin I highly recommend having a pair of scrubby gloves (I use the kind from my natural market).

Hold KAPHAR in one gloved hand and move it in circles into the palm of your other hand, then switch and scrub every inch of your body. I follow this by shaving, but you do you!

I can honestly say I had no intention of bringing a second soap into the line. But then came MIEL.

When we released MIEL last Christmas for our Holiday Gifting Season we were blown away at the response! We knew we had to bring MIEL into the H IS FOR LOVE family.

MIEL is the same base as KAPHAR, so the same milky lather with big bubbles. The scent is warm and rich, spicy and deep.

Cardamom, bergamot, Peru balsam and just a touch of patchouli make MIEL (French for honey) delicious enough to tempt you to try a taste. I wouldn’t though:)

LIN SKIN IS IN.

With our faces it’s important to be as gentle as possible. When it comes to the body, I take a different approach.

During my 20s I lived in Seattle and my girlfriends and I frequented a Korean spa. It was during this time I learned the importance of exfoliation. We would leave red, but our bodies felt like silk afterward.

For the smoothest skin use LIN as the last step in your bathing ritual. Take a small amount and scrub each limb, then pull the rest into center. Once you feel adequately exfoliated rinse LIN away using only water, this ensures the oils remain on your skin. You’ll notice you don’t even need a moisturizer if you do this.

However if you’d like one we happen to have the most effective/long-lasting body balm you will experience. In fact, KINU is formulated to have a scent profile that layers perfectly over LIN.

It’s safe to say that here at H we are all about the details.

The icing on the cake.
Make your skin feel just like silk…

KINU-Silk in Japanese

When applied to freshly cleansed and exfoliated skin, KINU absorbs effortlessly. It also satisfies for much longer than a body oil or even the richest lotion.

KINU is scented with vanilla CO2, clove, cedarwood, grapefruit and bergamot. It is spicy, sweet, intriguing, deep, luxurious. It will have you opening the jar any time you walk near it just to take a whiff. I know this because I still do it all the time.

Pro tip: Skip the towel after bathing! I dry my private areas and under my arms, but I leave water droplets on my arms and legs. Then I follow with KINU. Just a finger dip for each limb and pull the rest into center. This jar will last you for a very long time.

So much time is given to our facial care routines it feels good to spend time caring for our bodies. My bathing routine leaves my skin so soft I’m constantly batting hands away. I’m kidding, but also not!

Speaking of bodies, we have our quarterly P.S. Soap drop happening next week! Keep an eye out for that email.

Next up: Taking care of our bodies internally. This is one of my favorite subjects and the reason I became passionate about natural living in the first place.
